In January 2017, I started interning for accomplished documentary filmmaker, Yael Luttwak. In exchange for my help in her film's post-production stages, she mentored me as I commenced pre-production on my debut independent documentary, This Little Land of Mines.
Maine Girls (working title) is an independent documentary about a group of high school girls in Maine. Relatively recently, Maine has seen a major influx of refugees and immigrants, giving the predominantly white state a shake up. Through a school program, 13 girls came together for 8 weeks to build trust and authentic friendships through hip-hop dance and food.
With the new administration and immigration being a very hot topic lately, this film is very timely. I am currently assisting Yael and co-director/producer Abigail Sharon Tannebaum with all their post-production needs. We successfully fundraised $15,000 in 30 days on Indiegogo.
